Meet Marty

Just as I need to get to know you before I can present options appropriate for you and your family, you have every right to know about me. After all, along with a personal financial plan, we will be working together to build a long-term relationship you and your family can rely on for years to come.

My Proudest Achievements As A Northwestern Mutual Advisor

I am proud and excited that in 2020, I’ll be celebrating my 40th year with Northwestern Mutual. Over the years, I’ve developed deep expertise in retirement planning, investments, and long-term care planning. I feel that long-term care is an essential component of every plan. It’s an area many seek trustworthy guidance on, and one too many families and individuals still overlook.

Being able to share my expertise in this area, training and educating Northwestern Mutual advisors and the general public is something that also gives me a sense of pride. I feel there is so much to share with the next generation of advisors and clients.

For me, being able to continue growing my practice, and my team for years to come is the measure of my success. I love what I do.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Knox College
  • Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation. This designation is a valued educational credential for life insurance professionals.
  • Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC) designation. CLTC certification is a professional designation that ensures professionals understand the continuum of care, housing, and services that individuals need to live a long life. I not only understand the product but, more importantly, how to personalize a solution for each client's long-term care needs.
  • The Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation focuses on the comprehensive financial planning process as an organized way to collect and analyze information on each client's entire financial situation; to identify and establish specific financial goals; and to formulate, implement, and monitor a comprehensive plan to achieve those goals. The ChFC program provides financial services professionals, like me, with in-depth knowledge of the skills needed to perform comprehensive financial planning for their clients.

Personal Life

My wife, Cathy, and I raised our two children in Vernon Hills, IL. Our daughter, Carly, is married and lives in Indianapolis. Our son, Joel, now lives in Los Angeles.

When we became empty nesters, we moved into the city of Chicago, the perfect spot for an avid Chicago Cubs fan! We live on the near north side, in the Bucktown neighborhood. It’s the ideal location to enjoy city living with all the visual stimulation it provides. We also appreciate its parks, rich history, and beautiful skyline—all of which my wife and I enjoy. I also find it inspires my need to tell stories as a hobbyist screenwriter.
